Hello, I'm Diana.

I am a mother (45) of two sons (born in 2008 and 2015), a lactation consultant and certified “Breastfeeding and Lactation Specialist (EISL)”, and the founder of Stillberatung Waiblingen and Stillberatung Esslingen. I am also a state-certified nutritionist, baby massage instructor, elimination communication (EC) coach with the artgerecht Projekt, a babywearing consultant with Didymos, and employed at Klinikum Ludwigsburg.
Memberships
I am a member of:
BDL – Berufsverband deutscher Laktationsberaterinnen IBCLC e.V.
International Affiliation of Tongue Tie Professionals (IATP)
Doulas in Deutschland
My network
In my local area, I work closely with a network of specialists, including osteopaths, speech and language therapists (including those trained in Castillo Morales therapy), midwives, fellow lactation consultants, paediatricians, and specialised surgical practices focusing on oral restrictions.
More than just breastfeeding support
I support families in far more areas than traditional breastfeeding counselling.
You can come to me with any topic: formula feeding, colicky babies, infant sleep, excessive crying, or issues where you haven’t yet found the right support or “coach”.
Together, we find practical—and above all, non-dogmatic—solutions.
Often, support is needed beyond breastfeeding. In those cases, we create an individual “roadmap” together and decide which additional professional input may be helpful. Thanks to my broad knowledge and experience, I can guide you across a wide range of topics and refer you to qualified specialists when needed. If you wish, I will accompany you throughout the entire process.
Experience & approach
I have been working as a lactation consultant since 2015 and have been self-employed since 2018.
Over the years, I have built a strong network and extensive expertise that allows me to look beyond the obvious.
I have a keen sense for underlying issues and strong intuition—and I often find solutions even in cases where others have already said, “everything is fine” or “there’s nothing there.”
My philosophy: The Honest Approach
If there is something I cannot answer immediately or with certainty, I will tell you openly.
You will never receive guesses or half-knowledge. Instead, I research thoroughly and provide you with evidence-based, reliable information and answers.
No one can know everything—and no one needs to. What matters is honesty and integrity, including being transparent about limitations.
Interdisciplinary care
At my practice, you also have the opportunity to book appointments directly with doctors, psychotherapists, and craniosacral therapists.
Ongoing training
I am currently furthering my education in:
German Sign Language
Castillo Morales therapy
Psychotraumatology (trauma therapy, attachment, and attachment disorders)
Communication psychology
NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)
Dunstan Baby Language
Specialisation: Tongue-tie & oral restrictions
My main area of expertise is tongue-tie (ankyloglossia) and other oral restrictions.
I have dedicated several hundred hours in the past year alone to this topic.
To provide even more comprehensive support, I continuously expand my knowledge in areas such as:
Jaw-body balance
Psychological first aid
Sensorimotor development in the first year of life
Manual swallowing therapy (Castillo Morales)
Osteopathic treatment of infants
Breathing and swallowing therapy in paediatrics
Facial diagnostics
Support around frenotomy
I am able to support your baby with bodywork and therapy before and after a frenotomy.
Through regular sessions, we work on improving and practising your baby’s newly gained mobility.
I teach you how to carry out active wound management and provide you with practical tools to support your baby daily in short 3–5 minute sessions—focusing on swallowing, sucking, and movement.
This means you have one qualified point of contact throughout the entire process—saving you unnecessary travel and reducing stress for your baby.
Additional experience
I have supported multiple babies with Down syndrome and their families—some were even able to achieve full breastfeeding.
I am also trained in feeding infants with cleft conditions and have assisted in surgical procedures in the operating theatre.
Teaching & professional work
I work as a freelance lecturer at the family education centre in Waiblingen and with the Stiftung Jugendhilfe Esslingen.
Background in AFS
I began working at the AFS breastfeeding café in Waiblingen in 2015 and have also been active in the AFS group in Ludwigsburg since 2017.
In December 2020, I became the first chair of AFS Stillen e.V. (regional association Baden-Württemberg).
Due to internal structural and financial inconsistencies within the national board, I—along with several other board members—resigned and left the association.
Final note
I regularly share updates on my ongoing training in my blog, and you can also explore my journey under “Me and my clarinet.”
I offer preparation for parenthood, breastfeeding, and birth—including support if you haven’t found a midwife.
Questions like:
How does life with a baby actually work?
Where did my old life go?
Why do I feel emotionally overwhelmed—and no one seems to understand?
You don’t have to navigate this alone.
I offer holistic family support—whatever you need.

Parents of Beatrice, 3 months old
Hi Diana,
Thank you for your support. We are very happy with our Beatrice and thank you again for your help and for suggesting we have her tongue-tie checked. She has now summarized:
-less hiccups, less milk spillage while drinking
-more strength when sucking on the bottle and the breast
-stays longer at the breast without falling asleep
-The amount of supplemental milk is halved, the number of breastfeeding sessions is doubled.
-can open her mouth wider, is louder when she cries
-is generally calmer and more balanced than before the procedure and has an even wider grin
-The wound was almost completely healed after 6 days, although it suddenly bled briefly twice again after 3 days.
-We continue to massage the scar approximately 3 times a day.
We're writing a recommendation and would like to encourage you to continue; your work has helped us tremendously!
We haven't bought a baby carrier yet. We'll get back to you about it.
Best regards, Cecilia, Florian & Beatrice

Joshua's mom, 10 days old
I was very satisfied. I went to her because my 1.5-week-old son was refusing the breast. Thanks to her tips and help, we finally managed to breastfeed, and my son now only gets the breast and no longer needs a bottle. She is really very nice, and I can highly recommend her.

Highly competent and dedicated advice. I am a lactation consultant myself and I like to get a second opinion from Diana, both privately and regarding cases in my work.
